It's easier to download it - precracked, no trial and error, no fuss no muss. I haven't borrowed a game from a friend and copied it since the commodore 64 days. The thing is, casual piracy isn't their enemy. You have to think like a business-dork in a suit, who knows about money and **** about games or software. when they start to wonder why there numbers are lower then the protection will go. That should tell you a little bit about big business publishing. If they got caught that means it was very wide spread and most likely was not the only occurance. mant major record labels currently owe millions of dollars to consumers for price fixing. I could do 16 paragraphs why this is wrong.

That's quite a pipe dream you have going there.

In contrast, console software is not as vulnerable to piracy as pc is.Thats why u see all the hit titles go to console rather than pc.For example,True Crime,Mission Impossible, and many many more.So again,Im all for whatever will end piracy on pc.As long as the program that stops the piracy, doesnt affect the overrall performance of my system. You guys should be glad that there "still" supporting pc gaming.Because allot of companies are afraid to develop for pc because they know that they will lose alot of money due to the ease of piracy.Even crappy console games make more money than a top selling pc game. The problem with pc game software today is that pc game companies are afraid to take a higher risk in losing money due to piracy with pc game software. When a game developer releases a game, they lose allot of money on the R&D,production costs, and final shipping.By them earning money for sales on the game, they recoup that money to pay back to whom ever they owe and keep the rest for future projects. As a matter of fact,I seen a Microsoft show on how much it takes to make a game to become successful in the gaming industry.Let me tell you guys, its not easy. Its stressful.Time has to be met, games have to be approved by the head person, people get cut out of game projects for no reason and allot of other shyt.Sometimes games that have been researched and developed for over 2 years get the short side of the stick. They get cut off.So after wacthing that show,I gained allot more respect for game developers and game companies.Including the small companies.

I'm kinda glad pc game companies are finally taking a stand in piracy on pc games.Becuase,it will be beneficial to the consumer and to the game developers.By doing this:ġ.Software companies no longer lose money to n00bs who steal serial keys out of retail boxes, download games from Ftp sites and more.Ģ.More game will start to come out for pc,just like consoles. It's just wrong to assume people are pirating games because they have cloning and virtual drive tools installed on their harddrives. Ubisoft has taken copy protection to a new level of ignorance. You do know that no EULA has been challenged in court because they will probably lose (as they are generally written right now) If UBI has a liscense that says, you can not use our software with other legal softwware, I would submit that said liscence is patently illegal in the US.Īs to the quote above. I suspect that many of you here are not old enough to remember when there was "special oil" for Fords & then the reguler oil went into every other car on the planet (GM is doing this again wtih their all aluminum engines & anti-freeze). It is illegal for Ford to make a part that could somehow never be manufactured by a competent 3rd party. I don't know about France, but I would suspect that in the good ole US of A that this is illegal.

Technically with software, and many types of hardware, you are actually paying for a license to use it the way it was intended to be used, you do not actually own it.Īs I mentioned in the first thread about this.
